Fall in Love with Camden

A week long trip to London just isn't enough time to properly see all the diverse neighborhoods in London, not to mention, all the gorgeous palaces and historical places in the surrounding areas of the city.

I made the decision early on that it was important to stay in an affordable and hip neighborhood. I eventually decided on Camden. This area is where Amy Winehouse lived and has a reputation for being a hipster hangout. I spend a ton of time in this area of London. Here are a few places that I highly recommend you visit if you are in Camden.

SHOPPING

Camden Market: There are dozens of locally owned and operated shops here that sell everything from futuristic club clothing to custom guitars.

Irregular Choice For the shoe-obsessed creative soles, London's very own punk-rock shoe purveyor is the spot that will knock your socks off with their youthful and fabulously wild design. When I was there they had a Disney collection that I'd seen written up in several blogs. It was really awesome to get to see them all in the shop in person. Here are a few of my pictures from the store in Camden.

FOOD & RESTAURANTS:

Street food is also a really good option in Camden if you are on a tight budget. I had some delicious crepes from a street vendor.

Whole Foods Camden

I enjoyed being able to get vegetarian meals and organic groceries here like I do at home. They of course carry a lot of local brands and unique items I have never seen in any US stores.

Holland & Barrett

Great place to pick up any type of vitamins, on-the-go healthy snack food and drinks.

Pizza Express

This place is a chain but I liked the casual atmosphere and affordable Italian meals.

Costa Coffee

The UK version of Starbucks. However, I think I like Costa better. :D They have high-quality coffee, teas, sweets, and snacks.
